Tourism in Slovenia is unaffected by the migrant situation in Europe. The corridors which migrants are using to pass through the country are in two very small border areas of Slovenia. Almost all of our properties are in the West more than 100 miles away from these corridors. If you wish to have further clarification of this matter do please ring us. Slovenia is very much ‘business as usual!’
What makes Slovenia such a very special place?
It is a small country of stunning scenic beauty, with amazingly contrasting regions…
- These regions bring you iconic lakes, rolling hills, blue rivers, snow-covered mountains and even forests with bears!
- It is very modern European in style and atmosphere with friendly, welcoming people – most speak English.
- Slovenia has a wide range of differing places to stay, from charming tourist farmhouses to luxury hotels, from comfortable apartments to luxurious cottages. We know them all personally.
- It is great for walking, canoeing, rafting, and just exploring its beautiful dramatically scenic countryside.
- Ljubljana, the capital, is one of Europe’s most attractive cities with fine architecture, atmospheric cafes and restaurants, stylish shops. In the summer, the streets and squares are alive with festivals, markets, music and food stalls.
- The food and wine is of the very highest standard – even in simple local restaurants and cafes – and it is very affordable.
What is the best way to see the best of Slovenia?
Most of our clients stay in 2, 3 or more places. This is the way to enjoy the diversity of the country…
- Most stays include a stay in the capital plus a few days in one or more of the different regions. Holidays can be of any duration.
- Getting around is easy – all our cars have satnav – or we can do the transfers for you. Slovenia is smaller than Wales so distances between places are small. Ljubljana to Bled for example takes just 35 minutes.
Some thoughts from the owners of Just Slovenia – Gerry & Janet Copsey
We discovered Slovenia almost by accident, and on our first trip to this beautiful country were really bowled over. With the beauty of the different areas, the warmth and friendliness of the people, and the range of things to see and do. Slovenia remains under the radar to most people – most people don’t know exactly where it is, but all our clients have loved the country and what it has to offer.
The photos on the website – many provided by our friend and marvellous photographer Luka Esenko – give you a taste of what there is to see, but the only way to do it properly is to see for yourselves. We have no doubt you will be as impressed as we were, and continue to be on every visit!
