We have selected some great places for you to stay on our Slovenia food and wine holidays.
First,
Arkade Farm in the Vipava Valley. As well as their own award-winning wines,
you can explore the regional wine growers and sample the likes of Merlot, Cabernet
Sauvignon and Beli Pinot. The restaurant offers excellent regional dishes.
Next, Pension Raduha, in the Savinja Alps, is run by Martina an award-winning chef. Martina uses fresh, local, seasonal produce, you may even see members of her family gathering wild garlic for her famous wild garlic soup! Venison in pine sauce, trout in lemon sauce, nettle and apple soup, kohlrabi pudding served with orange sauce are but few from the wide selection of delicacies.
Lastly, head east to Urska Farm in the Pohorje Hills. Urska sits on a hill surrounded by the green forests of Pohorje, Vilma is an excellent cook, and her husband Tone is a
winegrower. Here you will experience home produce and cooking at its best.
They will proudly show you their winery and smokery where they cure wonderful
hams and salamis, and for the full ‘hands
on’ experience you can help with the cooking, food preparation and farm chores.
