This wine trail gives you the opportunity to taste some of Slovenia's best and traditional wines and meet some lovely people. Teran, a full-bodied red wine is the essence of the Karst: red soil, the north Bora wind and sun.

The speciality of the Gorjanici Hills is Cvicek, a ruby-coloured wine with a light taste, low alcohol and many claims of healing properties. In the Ljutomer-Ormoz hills of the east, you will find wonderful white wines; Chardonnay, Sauvignon, Rhein and Lasko Riesling, Muskat Otonel and traditional Sipon (ice wine).
Arkade Tourist Farm

Located in the middle of a pretty Karst village, Arkade produces award-winning
wines matured in oak casks. This typical Vipava Valley house of the Cigoj family,
with its white arches and stone portal, is the oldest in Crnice.
Matjazeva Cottage

for two people has been lovingly restored and refurnished with authentic
furniture, including an original kitchen range, baker's oven and cellar
where guests can pick up a bottle of the local rosé Cvicek wine.

know for its quality white wines. There are vines as far as the eye
can see and the owner of the farm, Milan Hlebec is both winegrower
and sommelier at this lovely hilltop tourist farm.
