I’ve been with the company since 2006, having spent much of my working life before this in travel, both overseas for a large UK tour operator and back in the UK as a travel agent. The wonderful thing about working for a small specialist tour operator though is getting to know our destinations in real depth. Slovenia is one of those places that, prior to working here, I’d only vaguely heard of and perhaps that’s the case for many people! But having visited I can honestly say that the country is a hidden gem and full of amazing natural beauty.
It is so easy to explore this compact country and as I particularly like to take road trips I can honestly say that driving around is such a pleasure. I feel very much at home in the mountains and driving the Vrsic pass – the stunning alpine pass which crosses the Julian Alps between Kranjska Gora and Bovec – has been one of my highlights with all 50 hairpin bends! Top Gear eat your heart out!!!

Having visited Slovenia several times with both friends and family, I can completely understand why it captivates so many visitors. It is an exceptionally beautiful country, blessed with lakes, mountains, castles and magnificent caves. The people are so wonderfully warm and welcoming and exploring the country by car is a pleasure rather than a chore, with spectacular scenery around every corner. No matter how many times I go, I am always counting down the days until I return to this enchanting corner of Europe.
