I’ve been with the company since 2005, having spent much of my working life before this in travel, both overseas for a large UK tour operator and back in the UK as a travel agent. The wonderful thing about working for a small specialist tour operator though is getting to know our destinations in real depth.  Slovenia is one of those places that, prior to working here, I’d only vaguely heard of and perhaps that’s the case for many people!  But having visited I can honestly say that the country is a hidden gem and full of amazing natural beauty.

It is so easy to explore this compact country and as I particularly like to take road trips I can honestly say that driving around is such a pleasure.  I feel very much at home in the mountains and driving the Vrsic pass – the stunning alpine pass which crosses the Julian Alps between Kranjska Gora and Bovec – has been one of my highlights with all 50 hairpin bends!  Top Gear eat your heart out!!!

Since taking a Freddie Laker flight in the 70’s I have been hooked on travel and now my family and I love to travel to new places – our latest trip was to the lesser know Caribe Sur coast of Costa Rica. On my holidays I have a check list of things that I like to look for – characterful accommodation, interesting flora and fauna, good food, stunning countryside, a good road trip and some interesting shopping! Luckily we found all this and more on our recent holiday and I’m happy to say that Slovenia also ticks all these boxes. I’m now looking forward to my next trip to Slovenia …

I joined the team here in 2002 and it has been really pleasing to see the Slovenian programme develop and grow as we have added more properties. My main role is overseeing the administration of holiday arrangements and in an age where lots of people just want to click a mouse to arrange their lives, it is nice to find so many people who would rather talk to a real person with knowledge – especially about something so important as a big holiday.

I have just returned from a family holiday to Slovenia and we all loved it! It’s such a beautiful country, the people are so friendly and welcoming and driving around really wasn’t a chore! Mountains, lakes and wildflower meadows as well as castles, caves and rivers. My husband even enjoyed a spot of fly-fishing during our stay, in the clearest waters he has fished in! It was lovely seeing the country that I have been talking about for so long, I can’t wait for my next visit!
